Consultation

Not only will I offer advice and direction based on my 10 years+ of digital marketing in small businesses, as a small business owner myself, I understand you’ll need to know how something works, so that you can do it yourself if you need to.

My consultation style is less of the waffle & jargon, and more of the step by step helpful guides and action plans.

What I Can Help With

Marketing Strategy

As a small business owner you’ll know your product or service like the back of your hand and be a fully fledged expert in it, no doubt. But when it comes to marketing yourself, it can be tricky to know where to start. I’ve worked with plenty of small businesses over the years, so I can usually put my finger on what you should be focusing on pretty quickly.

Whether you’re launching a new element to your business, starting from scratch, or you know that your brand needs a refresh, let me have a quick look and I’ll offer some easy-to-implement ideas & suggestions.

Training

If you have a techy tool that you’re not too sure how to use, let me run through some relevant tips on how your business can really make the most of it. I’m an expert in tools like ActiveCampaign, Omnisend, and Intercom so if you’ve got some questions that are going unanswered from trawling through “help” documentation and speaking with support teams, let’s have a chat.

Marketing Plan Creation

If you’re running a small team who have the brand knowledge & capacity to create campaigns, but not necessarily the experience, then this is an ideal way to inject some expertise into your business. I’ll take the time to get to know your brand & products or services, and then I’ll create a marketing plan as if it were a very detailed brief, which you can then use inhouse and implement yourself.

Demos & Explainers

Whenever I’m wrapping up on a project, I’ll offer a full handover service – this is particularly useful for when you have a new websites, if I’ve introduced a new tool for your business, or you’re taking a DIY approach to your marketing and just needed some pointers & foundations setting up.

BarkyBakey

Paul had a website built in Shopify, all ready to go. He had a good social media presence, and had been directing people to sign up to emails to hear about the launch. He had signed up for Klaviyo, but didn’t know where to start with automations and his email marketing experience was limited. As a new business, keeping costs down was vital, so he planned to do his email marketing himself.

Nonna’s Supper Club

Georgina and the team had a well established brand and a great social presence for the deli, but came to me seeking help to launch an e-commerce section of their business. They had started to curate hampers using their customer’s favourite products, but needed help adjusting their Wix website, announcing the news via email, and building some automated campaigns for when buy their products using Mailchimp.

Axis Europe

Axis first came to me looking for ongoing help with email automations built within ActiveCampaign. They wanted an automation which started when a sub-contractor filled in a form.

The InHouse Group

Whilst building a new website, InHouse decided to start using Intercom. As they’re a small team, they needed to be able to support their customers on the go, or even offer support when no one was there to help! They got in touch wanting some help with configuring Intercom, but also set up some automated chatbots to make sure their customers were being guided through the website, easily booking viewings of properties, or getting in touch about selling their own property.

The Bok Shop

Jamie & Howard got in touch around the time they were launching their latest restaurant, hoping to utilise their Instagram & TikTok following to spread the word and get some regular customers based in Southampton.

Ribble Trails & Tails

As a brand new business, Ribble Trails & Tails didn’t yet have much of a brand presence, so Dave needed a website so that he could be found on Google as well as a logo and some business cards designing for him.

Send Me A Christmas Tree

As such a seasonal business, Send Me A Christmas Tree experiences a number of challenges that the typical e-com doesn’t. Customers can place an order online anytime throughout the year and choose a specific delivery date in November or December. But as the months turn colder, their orders increase rapidly and they’re required to grow their customer service team & ramp up their marketing almost overnight…

The Process

Tell me what you need.

STEP ONE
Start by telling me the problem you're trying to solve. If you don't have any more details at this stage, don't worry. If you do, it's an added bonus but not a requirement.

I'll ask a few questions about your business & the task at hand. We can do this over the phone, in person (if you're lucky enough to be in Sussex!), or you can ping me an email - you decide.

I'll scope it out.

STEP TWO
I'll go away and think of a plan. I'll put this all in a simple document & send it over, with rough timings & a price.

If need be, we can hop on a call to go through it all. If you have any questions or feedback at this stage, I'll make any necessary adjustments to the scope.

I'll get to work.

STEP THREE
I'll start putting words into actions! Once I've done my first draft, I'll send it over with a screen recording. Have a watch, have a read, have a click around and start gathering some thoughts & feedback.

Feedback & repeat.

STEP FOUR
I want to know your thoughts! This is the time you can tell me to change the wording, ask me questions about how it works, or anything else that's on your mind.

We can do this on a call, or you can send me a list of bits & bobs you want me to adjust. Whatever the format, I'll go away and make any amends, and we'll repeat this step as many times as we need.

Go live!

STEP FIVE
Once I've got the final version ready, I'll send it to you for one last check before sign off.

When you're 100% happy, we'll go live!
